Reading the axes

Up and down — how much it asks of you. If I mishit this, how much do I lose? Low down, a mishit still crosses the net and lands deep. High up, a mishit dies mid-court. This is timing cost only: sweet spot size, how badly a late swing is punished, how much head speed you have to bring before the frame gives anything back.

Left and right — where its advantage comes from. Right, from mass behind the shuttle: the frame carries weight into contact and does some of the work for you. Left, from quickness: less to swing, so you get the head there sooner and recover faster. This is a real trade-off — weight is either in the head or it isn't.

Control isn't a third axis. How controllable a frame is for you is the timing question above. Physical load isn't plotted either — read the weight class for that. And neither axis says whether a racquet is any good; that's the rating. Both axes are calibrated to the player you're reading, so one person's zero is not another's.
